The sixteenth installment of the 9to5Linux Weekly Roundup is here, for the week ending on January 17th, keeping you guys up to date with the most important things happening in the Linux world. If you missed last week’s Weekly Roundup, you can check it out here.
Thank you!
Thank you everyone for following 9to5Linux on social media; we’re nearing 6K followers on Twitter and that’s only possible thanks to you guys! Thank you again to everyone who donated so far to help me keep this website alive for as long as possible.
This week has been quite interesting despite the fact that no major releases were planned. We saw the launch of a new PinePhone Linux phone edition, the release of the Flatpak 1.10 and Wine 6.0 software, and much more.
Website changes
I wanted to talk to you about the RSS feeds available on 9to5Linux. A few of you out there complained that the RSS feed (I use ATOM) is broken, but if you use the right client it isn’t. I don’t know why, but certain RSS clients sometime show new entries after a few hours, but other times they display them immediately.
If you follow my work via RSS, I highly recommend using Feedly as it shows new articles immediately after they’re published. These days Feedly is also the number one RSS client recommended by numerous websites who offer “the best RSS clients” lists. You can find both the native RSS and Feedly links in the “Follow Us” section.
